The whole surface is a 0.6 mm galvanised steel sheet, and any magnetised base stays on it even if the tray is knocked or tilted, with the paintwork protected. Inside the 3D-printed PLA, hidden magnets for the metal shelves of the case; around it, a 2 mm border that lets each unit be placed precisely, keeps its footprint in the case small and keeps the game fair.
