MDF Drybrush Palette

Drybrush palette laser-cut and engraved from 3 mm MDF, featuring multiple textures on a single board so you can wipe your brush on surfaces similar to those you will paint.

Measures 196 × 116 mm — a comfortable working area without taking over your painting desk. Works with any drybrush (Citadel M-Dry, Wargamer, Blue Series, makeup brushes) and any acrylic paint.

Wiping the brush on kitchen paper leaves your first stroke dusty because cellulose soaks up too much pigment. The matte texture of the primed MDF leaves just the right amount of paint on the bristles, helps you keep brushwork consistent between miniatures and avoids the chalky finish. Especially useful when painting a full army and you need every model to match.

Supplied unprimed. Raw MDF is very absorbent: if you wipe paint straight onto it, the fibres soak up the pigment just like kitchen paper and your first stroke comes out dry again. Before first use, apply a coat of spray primer, ideally in the same colour you use on your miniatures (black, grey or white), and let it dry. This seals the surface so it stays smooth and consistent, and when you wipe the brush you see exactly how the stroke will look on the model.

Once the palette saturates with paint after a few sessions, simply re-prime it with spray and it is back to new — fully reusable.
